Great Poland camp

Great Poland camp

It was difficult not to compare the results of the five-year trial of constitutional life in Poland with the results, which Italy reached at Mussolini. There without the use of the army (though not without violence) managed to stop decay and overcome divisions and foreign agents in the name of a supra-class national idea. Here in Poland, society and the army are torn apart, broken old law, the new was not created. The efforts of the right side of the chamber to create a common system of government were wasted; the left wing, even on paper, did not do a common positive job. What a moral was this? For the left, that you have to continue fighting for seats, and after victory, glue and unhook governments. For Piasts and NPR- winning a lawsuit before an election forum. For the nationalists, things were two-fold. Without giving up the Seym rostrum, move from the plane of parliamentary power and party to a different one, stronger, appeal to the nameless Pole, as with the "Pole" in hand from the end of the 19th century. captured villages and cities. Only, that now the landed gentry could no longer be counted, nor in the financial sector. Even before May, w 1925 r. great congress of landowners in [September 1925 r.] he cast a curse on these, what they voted for land reform. The influence of the Kiniorski and Chełchowski families collapsed, Skarbek and Czetwertyński and the whole tactics of Dubanowicz's group failed to cement the patriotic bloc called Christian] Farmers. Then it was Dmowski, having returned from Italy and France, conceived the idea of establishing the Great Poland Camp. Great – because he was convinced, that only a great state can exist between Germany and Russia, Camp – because in this organization the power from above was supposed to go, from the authority of thought and merit, not from below, from the interests or the moods of the flocking clusters; Poles of various parties and non-party members were summoned to this organization. At first, the enthusiasm was great. The inauguration of the OWP took place in Poznań on the day 4 of December 1926 r. Dmowski toured the country and opened troops headed by "oboźnych". Góra began to issue programmatic guidelines. democracy, parliamentarians, even among endeks, however, they were a bit skeptical about the latter track, and people from other parties did not come forward. After a year it was possible to say, that the program crystallizes slowly, that disinterested youth turns to the old leader, meanwhile, another camp is being built next door with no rules, programs, state camp, because he is armed with state money, sabers and police batons.
